  12. Hello all !  I've recently received a 14.4 data/fax modem, and I'm not sur
  13. what it's features really are.  The advertising on the box mentions RPI
  14. when used with compatible software.  The manifest states that V.42, V.42bis
  15. and MNP2-5 are hardware based. The atI3 command gives me:
  16. "V2.200-ACF/ATF_DP Rockwell RPI(tm) Modem+01".  There are no brand names
  17. or phone help numbers.  So far I've had no problems with connections or 
  18. transfers. I understand protocols, modem operations, etc. I'm just not
  19. familiar with under the hood stuff yet. In a nutshell, are the features
  20. hardware or software based, or both ?  Thanks for any replies.
